# How can a web builder deliver and maintain many client sites from one account?

Create every client site in one Siteon account, keep each on the Free plan while you build, and move it to a paid plan when it launches. Invite each client as staff of their own site, so they can update content and read inquiries without seeing billing or your other sites. All paid sites are billed together once a month, from $4/month per site, and an API key lets your AI agent create sites, apply schemas, deploy and roll back for any of them.

## How an account is organized

| Who | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Account owner | Everything, including billing, members and closing the account |
| Account admin | All sites, members and API keys (not ownership or closing the account) |
| Billing manager | Billing only. Can't see site content |
| Site staff (your client) | Edit content and read inquiries for their own site only |

There is no charge per editor or per member. You pay per site.

## Steps

### 1. Create a site per client

```sh
siteon sites create bakery --name "Bakery"
siteon sites create dental --name "Dental clinic"
siteon sites list
```

New sites start on Free and work on development and preview domains, so you can build and show drafts at no cost.

### 2. Build, then publish when the client signs off

Move the site to a paid plan in the dashboard (Account → Billing), then:

```sh
siteon hosting enable --site bakery
siteon deploy ./dist --site bakery
```

### 3. Invite the client

In the [dashboard](https://app.siteon.dev), invite the client by email as staff of their site. They update news, menus and photos, and see inquiries. Notification settings stay with you (staff can view them but not change them).

### 4. Let your AI agent do the repetitive work

Issue an API key in the account menu (top right) → "API keys" and choose its scopes. Keys can create sites, apply schemas, send test notifications, read inquiries and deploy. No key can touch billing, members, key management or site deletion.

```sh
claude mcp add siteon -e SITEKIT_API_KEY=stk_... -- npx -y siteon-cli mcp
```

For agents that only summarize inquiries, use a read-only key with `--read-only`, so text written by visitors can't lead to changes.

## What it costs

Prices are per site, and bills for every paid site in the account are combined into one monthly charge (one billing cycle per account, monthly or yearly).

| | Free | Lite | Standard | Business |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $0 | $4 | $12 | $39 |
| Yearly | — | $40 | $120 | $390 |

You can mix plans: a small shop on Lite, a busy multilingual clinic on Business.

Siteon is infrastructure for AI-built websites: it adds hosting, a CMS your client can edit, contact forms, analytics and control from AI agents (CLI and MCP) around static HTML built with AI or by hand, so it is ready to ship.
